With the advent of Large Language Models (LLMs), Everwell has been exploring innovative applications of generative AI in the context of national health programs. While LLMs are powerful tools, the possibility of generating incorrect information (also known as hallucination) warrants special sensitivity and concern for critical applications in healthcare.
Our approach has been to prioritize scenarios where LLM-generated outputs are manually reviewed by humans as part of specific workflows, as opposed to giving general user-facing advice.
Provably Safe AI Chatbots
We are exploring new ways of leveraging AI to pre-generate large corpuses of questions and answers that can be manually verified, enabling construction of health chatbots that are provably safe.
Instead of using generative AI to directly answer a question, the approach leverages AI tools to look up the closest matching question from our extensive, pre-verified database. The user then chooses the best match to their question and receives a safe and precise answer.
FillFast: AI Powered Data Entry
FillFast is an AI-powered browser extension that extracts unstructured data from a PDF or JPEG file and auto-fills it into a web-based form.
This solution enables health centers to avoid double entry of data. Once data has been entered into a local EMR, it can be transferred automatically to a national health platform without the need for API integration.
AI Powered Dashboards
The technologies underlying national health platforms are often challenging to support due to myriad questions, challenges, and requests that are submitted from the field.
We built an AI-powered dashboard that empowers technical support teams. The system utilizes LLMs to help summarize user reports, prioritize them, and link them to underlying workstreams of software developers.
